Branch of Botany that deals with study of internal structures and organization of plants is called plant
anatomy.


Tissue
is group of cells similar in origin, structure and function.
The term tissue was coined by
N. Grew, he is known as “Father of plant anatomy”.
Carl Nageli divided tissues into two types
A. Meristematic tissue B. Permanent tissue
A. Meristematic Tissues :
Meristem is a part of the embryonic tissue. The meristematic tissue produces leaves, branches, flowers etc.
Such a localized group composed of young cells and possessing the ability of continuous divisions is
known as meristematic tissue and the region as meristem (undifferentiated tissue).
